Clinopyroxene, plagioclase, and opaque phenocrysts set in a glassy,
plagioclase-rich matrix.
Clinopyroxene, plagioclase
and opaque phenocrysts. Plagioclase phenocrysts exhibit resorption features
and overgrowths, indicating plagioclase became unstable, but before all the
phenocrysts were resorbed, it became a liquidus phase again. The relict plagioclase
cores acted as seeds for new growth.
